AFVID: Armor ID Guide

Learn to recognize armored fighting vehicles by shape and feature, by day and through night sights, with a method aligned with publicly released U.S. Army training publications. Independent app: AFVID is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, or any government. Its sources are listed at the end, each with a link. Study tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, personnel carriers and support vehicles in short guided sets, from easier flank views to harder front and rear views, close up and then at range. Recognize the kind of vehicle, identify the model, then decide friend or foe. Each vehicle lists its key features under the six FASTER headings. WHAT IS INSIDE A library of more than 190 vehicles with photos for most, key features, similar vehicles and specifications. Flashcards with spaced repetition and a deck builder. Quiz modes including vehicle duels, a range ladder and a WWII flash drill. Timed exams modeled on three published identification tests and aligned with their public standards. Silhouettes and simulated night vision views. Thermal views: computer rendered for a growing set of vehicles, plus real thermal frames from Army manuals for a few. Simulated views are labeled in the app. A doctrine primer that quotes its sources. FREE AND PRO Free: the library with its day photos, the doctrine primer, and a starter set with flashcards and a quiz.
