Read the world's sacred texts side by side. Coexist brings the Bible, the Quran, the Torah and the scriptures of nine more traditions into one quiet library, and shows you where they speak to each other. ONE VERSE, MANY VOICES Long-press any verse to open its Connections: the closest passages in other traditions, found by meaning rather than by matching words. Open the graph to follow the threads from one scripture to the next, or keep Compare beside the text and the nearest parallel follows you verse by verse. TWELVE TRADITIONS, ONE LIBRARY • Christianity: the Bible (World English Bible) • Judaism: the Tanakh (JPS 1917) • Islam: the Quran (The Clear Quran, Talal Itani) • Hinduism: the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata and Ramayana • Buddhism: the Dhammapada, Sutta-Nipata, Lotus Sutra and more • Taoism: the Tao Te Ching and Chuang Tzu • Confucianism: the Analects, Mencius and the Book of Odes • Jainism, Sikhism, Shinto, Zoroastrianism and the Bahá'í Faith More than 134,000 passages in public domain or freely licensed English translations, all stored on your device. Every translation is credited in the app. THE ORIGINAL BESIDE THE TRANSLATION Read Hebrew, Greek, Arabic, Sanskrit, Classical Chinese, Gurmukhi and more next to the English, or on their own. TODAY Every day brings a reading from each tradition you follow: the Psalm of the day, the week's Torah portion, a juz of the Quran, a chapter of the Gita or the Dhammapada, and more. A home screen widget brings a verse to your day, with a StandBy layout for your nightstand. THEMES AND SEARCH Browse 30 themes, from compassion and forgiveness to light, water and liberation. Search every scripture at once and filter by tradition. YOUR OWN STUDY Highlight, underline, add notes and bookmark passages, with optional iCloud backup. Find your highlights in Spotlight, and ask Siri to read today's passage aloud. INSIGHTS ON YOUR DEVICE If you wish, ask for a short reflection on a passage, or on the thread between two passages from different traditions. Insights are written on your device by Apple Intelligence or by a small open model you download once. MADE FOR IPAD AND IPHONE DUO On iPad, the library, the reader and Compare share one screen. On iPhone Duo, fold it like a book and turn real pages in Book view, read one scripture on each half, or stand it in tabletop and let it read aloud. RESPECTFUL BY DESIGN Coexist does not rank, merge or interpret the traditions. It sets their own words next to each other, so you can read, compare and reflect for yourself. The interface is available in 12 languages. Scripture texts are in English translation, alongside their original languages.
