Collie is a voice assistant that looks after your AI coding agents while you are away from the computer. You call it the way you would call a person: it tells you which agents are waiting for an answer, retells their questions in plain words, passes your answers on, starts new tasks and tells you when they are done. You listen in your headphones and answer out loud. No terminal, no diffs, no screen. A CALL, NOT A DASHBOARD Phone remotes for coding agents give you a terminal mirror and a microphone, so you still read output on a small screen. Collie reads the agents' output for you and says it in a sentence or two. ON A CALL • Who needs you: at the start Collie says which agents are waiting. • Questions as choices: "It asks: drop the old migration or keep it?" Your answer goes to that agent. • Start, stop, run: start an agent in a project, in a fresh git worktree if you ask; stop one; run a command or a script and hear when it ends. • Updates mid-call: when an agent gets blocked or finishes, Collie says so without being asked. • Nothing irreversible by accident: deleting, pushing, deploying or migrating is repeated back and waits for your yes. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything runs on your own computer: speech recognition, the voice and the assistant itself. No account. • The iPhone pairs with your computer by a QR code; the key stays in the phone's keychain. • Calls connect from anywhere: at home straight over Wi-Fi, away from home end-to-end encrypted. So is the text of notifications. • A real call: CallKit puts it on the lock screen, and you mute it with your AirPods. WHAT YOU NEED Collie talks to collie-server, a free program for your Mac or Linux computer. Install the Collie desktop app on your Mac (or collie-server on a Linux machine), run "collie-server pair", and scan the QR code with your iPhone.
