Find the file you are thinking of. Fastlight searches the folders you choose by meaning and exact words, with processing on your Mac. Open search from the menu bar or a keyboard shortcut. Preview matching document pages and media moments. Enable optional code search with its own folders and exclusions. YOUR MAC, YOUR FILES Choose where to search through the macOS folder picker. File contents, search queries and the local search index stay on your Mac. Fastlight has no advertising, account system or publisher analytics. LOCAL SEMANTIC SEARCH An initial model download of about 865 MB enables on-device semantic search. Model files come from Hugging Face and its delivery providers; your documents and queries are not sent with download requests. Already indexed file names remain searchable when the model is unavailable. ONE PURCHASE A paid download with no subscriptions, in-app purchases or feature unlocks. Requires macOS 14 or later. Supports Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. Supported file types, local availability, exclusions and macOS permissions determine what can be searched. Search is not a backup or a guarantee of finding every file.
