MIG Eraser

MIG Eraser is a local Windows utility for controlled deletion of sensitive data. Choose individual files, folders, Recycle Bin contents, external drives, or free space. Before an operation begins, MIG Eraser validates the selected path and storage device and asks for explicit confirmation. External-drive operations also require Windows Hello verification. The built-in engine overwrites supported file data streams, flushes writes to storage, masks file-name metadata, and removes the files. Reparse points, hard links, compressed files, sparse files, EFS files, network paths, and protected system locations are blocked instead of being presented as safely erased. All operations run locally. File paths, file names, contents, settings, and operation history are not sent to the internet. Important: file-system overwriting is most predictable on magnetic hard drives. SSD, NVMe, SD, and USB flash devices can retain old physical pages because of TRIM, wear leveling, controller remapping, and reserved blocks. MIG Eraser does not claim guaranteed physical erasure of every old flash cell.
