Classes, lectures, meetings: put your Mac on the table for live translated subtitles, on the big screen or shared in an online meeting. Films and calls too. Accurate and fast, with ultra-low latency: the translation starts before the sentence ends. Same language, still hard to follow? Fast speakers, strong accents, a poor microphone, crosstalk: choose “No translation” at the top of the language menu and read along in the original language, with speakers kept apart. Nothing appears in the meeting: Tingdong listens on your Mac and joins nothing. Recognition and translation run as one continuous stream, so the translation starts before the sentence ends. World-leading speed and accuracy, built on a new generation of AI speech models. Why it costs money: recognition and translation run in the cloud on a dedicated real-time streaming engine, not on a model shrunk to fit a Mac, so every Mac gets the same recognition. That engine costs money for every minute it runs, so usage is billed by the minute: credits are only used while a session is running. Every Mac gets 100 free credits (about 100 minutes of subtitles): try it on something real before you decide. In the room — classes, lectures, trainings, meetings, face to face: set the source to Room only and the Mac's microphone follows whoever speaks. Big-screen subtitles go on a projector, TV or second display: original left, translation right, one sentence per row. In a hybrid meeting, share the subtitle window in Zoom or Teams so remote people read the same bilingual subtitles. Netflix, YouTube, a film in the original language, an online course, a podcast — press start and the translation appears while it plays. Rather listen than read? Turn on Read aloud. Online meetings on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet: the translation appears as people speak, with speakers kept apart, so an hour reads like a transcript, not a wall of text. WHAT YOU GET • In-room subtitles from the Mac's own microphone, no extra hardware • Big-screen subtitles, and a subtitle window to share in an online meeting or drag over anything; both show Side by side • Subtitles for videos, online meetings, anything your Mac plays • 60+ languages, detected automatically • Call Translation for FaceTime, Zoom, Teams and iPhone calls • Read aloud: the translation in a natural voice, in 60+ languages • No translation: live subtitles in the original language; sessions export as .md or .srt • Subtitle history kept on your Mac, searchable later LANGUAGES French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Vietnamese, Thai, Turkish, Polish, Dutch, Indonesian — and 40 more. Also FaceTime, Zoom and Teams. The other side installs nothing. Start Call Translation and join the call as usual — there are no microphone settings to change. iOS does not let any app capture call audio on the phone, but the Mac can. Tingdong translates what you hear; you speak as you normally would. PRIVACY Audio is streamed to the recognition engine only while a session is actually running. It is not recorded or stored, and your subtitle history never leaves your Mac. MEMBERSHIP A membership covers everyday meetings, lectures, calls and videos, monthly or yearly. One-time Credits packs are also available and stack on top of a membership. Payment is handled by the App Store; cancel anytime in your App Store account settings.
