UmP!

UmP! (Unsettled Music Pipeline) is a rhythm game in a tunnel. A ball bounces down the inside of a twisting, cylindrical tunnel, one hop on every beat of the music. Steer left and right to land on the tiles: over the holes, through the gates, onto the signs you want and away from the ones you don't. THE BEAT IS THE LEVEL Every row of tiles is a beat. A level lasts exactly as long as its song, and the tunnel's speed follows the music. Ten original tracks by Grzegorz Korycki come with the game - about six and a half hours of music across all the missions - and the music never repeats from one level to the next. 12 WORLDS, 120 MISSIONS - Twelve worlds of ten missions, each world with its own colours, sky and kind of route: gentle arcs, left-right turns, climbs and drops, fast esses, corkscrews, twists and spirals. - Every mission has a character of its own - forks, arrows, jumps, darkness, spinning rings, a narrow path - and every world ends with a Finale that throws everything at you. - Missions open one after another, and a new world opens when you finish the last mission of the one before. - Easy, Normal or Hard, picked on the mission screen: three separate maps for every mission, on the same track and the same song. Easy gives a wider path, fewer holes, more save points and extra lives; Hard narrows the path and adds holes and gates. - Your best score is kept for every mission. A TUNNEL THAT FIGHTS BACK - Forks: the tunnel splits into two tubes and joins again - where you bounce decides which one you take. - Gates to slalom through, holes straight ahead, jumps over the void, teleports, stretches where the path climbs onto the ceiling, and ribbons that peel away from the tunnel and braid back together. - 25 signs on the tiles: bonus points, speed up and slow down, hop left or right, long jump, teleport, tunnel turns, reversed controls, cracked and vanishing tiles, save points - and signs that play with the picture: darker and brighter, a quake, a disco light, an old TV's interference, a wave through the tunnel, rain on the screen, a bounce up to the ceiling and a torch in the dark. TWO WAYS TO LOOK Play with the tunnel turning under a ball that stays at the bottom of the screen, or with the ball travelling round a tunnel that holds still, the whole ring in view. Same game, same levels - only the camera changes. Five camera views (F1-F5): looking down on the tiles ahead, behind the ball, down the tunnel's centre, from the ball itself, and the classic view. CONTROLS - Left / Right arrows or A / D: steer around the tunnel. - Up arrow or W: push the ball forward, up to two rows ahead of the camera - the tunnel keeps the music's pace. - Space or P: pause. Esc: pause, then back to the mission list. R: restart the level. M: mute. - [ and ]: game tempo, to practise a hard stretch. - The menus work with the mouse (point, click, right-click or the wheel) and with the keyboard. LOOK AND FEEL - Five balls to choose from, each rolling with real spin. - Animated skies behind the tunnel that turn with the track, bloom, and reflections of the ball and the tunnel in the tiles (an option that turns itself off when the graphics card cannot keep up). - The picture assembles from flying pixels before every level and scatters at the end. - TV mode: the whole game on the curved screen of an old CRT television. - OpenGL or Vulkan 1.3 renderer, edge smoothing, and a draw-resolution scale for slower graphics cards. - The game pauses itself, music and all, when its window loses the focus. - Interface in seven languages: English, Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Ukrainian. PRIVACY No ads, no account, no online features. Your settings and progress are saved on your PC and never leave it. Please note: the game has flashing lights, a shaking picture and other screen effects. The 3D effects can be turned down or off in the options.
