zkDraw Comic Studio is software for creating comics, manga and graphic novels on a Windows PC, from pencils to print. It works with a pen as well as a mouse, and it runs offline: your projects stay in files on your disk. AN ALBUM, ITS PAGES AND ITS PANELS Choose a format (European album, A4, A5, B5 manga, US comic, square or custom) and one of nine page layouts. Move an edge, cut a panel diagonally or draw one by hand. Click a panel to open it in the studio; back in the album, every page shows what you have drawn. TOOLS MADE FOR COMICS 81 brushes sorted by family: technical pen, nib, brush, marker, graded pencils, charcoal, watercolour, gouache, airbrush. The stroke follows pen pressure, with an adjustable stabiliser for each brush. Each panel opens with its layers ready: pencils, inks, screentones and colours. Add groups, clipping masks and blend modes. Focus and speed lines in one gesture, dot and line screentones, rulers, symmetry, perspective grids, a reference image and onion skin. BALLOONS AND LETTERING Speech, thought and shout balloons, captions, sound effects and comic fonts. You can also turn your own handwriting into a font. NOT ONLY COMICS Create free drawings at the size you choose, in pixels or millimetres: illustrations, studies, posters or social media posts. FROM SCREEN TO PRINTER Export a panel, a page or the whole album as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, PSD with layers, PDF and CBZ for e-readers, with bleed and crop marks. TRIAL, PRICES AND PAYMENT The app is free to download. You need a free zkDraw account to use it. The trial lasts 14 days, with every feature and no credit card. After that, choose from three plans: CHF 4.90 a month, CHF 39 a year, or a one-time purchase at CHF 89 for version 1 and its updates. Purchases do not go through the Microsoft Store: they are made by card on the zkDraw website, through Stripe. The same account works on all your computers. Online backup (1 GB) is included with the trial and the subscriptions. With the one-time purchase, it is an option at CHF 1.90 a month. Once activated, zkDraw works offline. The licence is checked online at least once every 30 days. The app is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
